In taking Communication Research Methods and Senior Seminar, i have been developing my own research on the Social Media Outlet, Facebook, while also studying the affects the SMN has on Long Distance Relationships in college. I am currently conducting my own research through the use of the survey methodology. I have used my social media skills to get my survey out to the right participants. Soon, I will be analyzing the data and creating my final Senior thesis.I hope that I can use my research and findings to allow me to better examine my audience when planning events or using social media.

In my PR communication class, I was given the opportunity to create a full media kit for a organization on campus. This media kit complies a Backgrounder, New social media, Press release, Pamphlet, and other important aspects. This was a team project, were I developed the brochure and created the new social media, instagram, for Sigma Phi Epsilon at Longwood University. Media kits are often handed out at events, the knowledge of knowing about media kits and how to prepare one will allow me to take advantage of this in my future of event planning.

Currently, I am in Organized communication, in which I was given the task to be project manager of my PR Agency team. My agency will be presenting and planning a series of fundraiser events for the local non-profit, Waterworks Players, this company is a local theater that provides to the arts community in Farmville, VA. My PR Agency is in the works with planning our event for them. This entire project will inform me how to plan a event from start to finish.

In the Crisis Management class, we were placed into teams, each team represents a crisis emergency team and will be developing a full Crisis Management Plan for the company, and crisis of our choice. Below is the intial proposal for the plan.I am thouroughly captivated by the crisis process. The careful brainstorming and planning ahead has helped me prepare for future crisis, taught awareness, and also that determining future problems before they might occur is the key to true success. This CMP will prepare me in the future of event planning.

Project |05 Persuasive Speech
In the public speaking communication class, I was challenged in creating and delivering several speeches. In this class it taught me the basics of getting to know your audience, directing and planning a speech geared towards that audience, topic production, logical speech creation, organization, and how to deliver a great succesful speech. In particular, one speech which was based on persuasive tactics, informed me the most. This speech will help me in the future with pitches of events to clients, agencys, etc.
